The Groove Goddess, Live at Lincolns Roadhouse

Lincolns Roadhouse, a venerable Denver blues den, hosted the Groove Goddess (https://groovegoddesscolorado.com/) May 30th, 2026. The Groove Goddess is a powerhouse all-star all female blues, R&B, soul, funk, supergroup. The band features nine seasoned musical talents: Jessica Rogalski, Vocals (Mojo Mama); Cass Clayton, Vocals, (Band Cass Clayton Band); Eef, Vocals/Guitar( E Train); Michelle Castillo, Vocals/Guitar (Michelle Castillo ); Shaunda Fry, Vocals (Reckless and Blue Band); Jodie Woodward Bass (Tony Luke Band, Rusty Bucket Blues Jam); Kim Leonard Harmonica, (frequently backing Maynard Mills); Shannon Spencer, Percussion; and Miranda Schreiber,  Keyboard. These skilled musicians, each with bands or associations of their own, have merged over the last few months to form the Groove Goddess, which has gained quite a reputation in the local blues scene.

They are all friends and family of the local blues community who have unified to form this unique collective supergroup featuring women in the Colorado blues circle.

 Celebrating Women of the Colorado Blues Scene

“This was only their third formal gig, and they performed like a seasoned unit. The groove was smooth and captivating as they proceeded through a set of standards and well-known reflective pieces, gracefully arranged to feature the wealth of talent on the bandstand. The first set included, among others: the 70’s STAX release “Mr. Big Stuff”, “Hand Jive” with its infectious Bo Diddley beat, and the blues standard, “Got My Mojo Working”. 70’s Nostalgia buffs got a treat and were tapping their feet and dancing to the Goddesses’ renditions of Carole King’s “I Feel the Earth Move” (great vocal harmony), The Stones “Miss You” (Eef can really bend strings to a disco beat), and even a bluesey interpretation of Crosby Stills and Nash’s dissent anthem, “Long Time Gone” (which brought lots of smiles in the crowd and conjured up memories of times when we all had more hair). They even touched Motown, Funk, and Soul. Every tune was danceable and the variation seemed to reflect the diversity of the band. There was clearly something for everyone, all presented in the theme of praising women in music.”
